Podcast shines spotlight on local entrepreneurs

The people behind North Tyneside’s businesses are stepping into the spotlight in a new podcast series exploring the challenges and realities of entrepreneurship.

North Tyneside Business Forum has launched Behind the Business, an 11-part series featuring business owners and professionals sharing their experiences, lessons learned and personal journeys.

Hosted by Jamilah Hassan, of JH Property Connect, alongside members of the Forum’s management team, the podcasts aim to go beyond conventional business advice and success stories.

Guests include Paul Pringle, of Solarglide, Terry Christie, of Scaretech, and menopause coach Cheryl Tanner, with discussions covering the obstacles, pressures and experiences that have shaped their careers.

The first episode will be released this Wednesday (October 21), with further instalments published weekly on the Forum’s website and YouTube channel.

All 11 episodes were recorded at North Tyneside Council’s new podcast studio in Howard Street, North Shields, which is available to use free of charge.

The series forms part of the Forum’s wider efforts to strengthen connections between local businesses and encourage the sharing of knowledge and experience.

Angela Tuplin, chair of the North Tyneside Business Forum, said: “We have an incredible range of businesses across North Tyneside, but behind every business is a person with a story to tell.

“Running a business is about much more than figures, targets and success.

“It involves challenges, difficult decisions, unexpected opportunities and lessons learned along the way.

“We want these podcasts to give people the chance to talk honestly about those experiences and let others get to know the person behind the business.

“The idea is also to keep the conversation going between our Forum events, helping people feel more connected to the local business community.

“By sharing these stories, we hope to celebrate the diversity of businesses across North Tyneside and encourage more people to get involved.”

Supported by North Tyneside Council, the independently managed Forum provides networking opportunities, events and business support.

Membership is free and open to businesses of all sizes with a trading address in North Tyneside.
