Housebuilder unleashes new dog agility park
A Hampshire housebuilder has given local dog owners something to bark about after opening a new agility park and 17 acres of public open space at a residential development in the New Forest.
Bargate has unveiled the facilities at its Shepherds Green scheme in Hordle, providing residents and the wider community with new areas for walking, recreation and outdoor activities.
The dedicated dog agility park is already proving popular with local pet owners.
Local resident Gracie Gallagher, who regularly visits with her dog Reggie, said: “My mum discovered it when she was out walking and we’ve been coming here regularly ever since.
“It’s great to have somewhere like this so close to home.
“If Reggie needs a quick run around, we can bring him here for 20 minutes and have a go at the agility course – or at least try!”
Located on Everton Road, Shepherds Green marks Bargate’s 100th development and comprises 155 two, three and four-bedroom homes.
The scheme is situated approximately six miles from Brockenhurst, within easy reach of Lymington and the New Forest.
Matt Fordham, who moved to Shepherds Green with his wife Nicky in May, added: “We’ve been on the Shepherd's Green development since May, and our two dogs, Poppy and Dexter could not be happier.
“They use the dog park and field daily, from dawn until dusk.
“It’s a wonderful, convenient amenity that keeps them active, safe, and thoroughly entertained.”
