Getting to know... Steve Moorcroft
In the latest instalment of Bdaily’s Getting to know… feature, which looks at the person behind the business profile, Steve Moorcroft, director at Brighton, Bristol, Leeds, London, Warrington and Brussels-based environmental consultancy Logika Group, talks about his passion for problem-solving, helping communities, businesses and the environment thrive, and savouring the highest ski resort in the world.
We know you as a director at Logika Group, but who is the person behind the title? Tell us a little about what makes you tick…
I’m someone who’s driven by curiosity and problem-solving.
I enjoy understanding complex challenges and finding practical solutions that make a real difference.
I’m also a believer in the power of teamwork, nothing gets done alone and I love working with people who are as passionate about what they do as I am.
Did you always want to work in environmental consultancy?
I’ve always been interested in how the world works and how we impact it.
Early in my career, I discovered environmental consultancy was the perfect intersection of science, business, and problem-solving.
Over time, it became clear this was exactly where I wanted to make a difference.
What’s the best bit about your job? And the worst?
The best part is definitely seeing the tangible impact of our work and knowing that the projects we take on help communities, businesses, and the environment in meaningful ways.
The worst part? There is not really a worst part – but sometimes trying to juggle timescales can be an issue.
What do you consider to be your greatest achievement?
Being part of building Logika Group into the team it is today – a place where talented, motivated people can thrive and really make an impact.
On a personal level it is working closely with clients to deliver successful outcomes that are appreciated.
How do you relax outside of work?
I enjoy reading, cooking and travel.
I used to be an enthusiastic skier, but I’m not as young as I used to be!
Tell us something about you we didn’t know…
I have been to what was the highest ski resort in the world – Chacaltaya, in Bolivia.
At 5375 metres, there were oxygen masks at the foot of the slopes.
Sadly, the glacier retreated during an El Nino event in 2009 and never returned.
