Power firm 'plugged in for growth' with solar deal
A renewables firm says it has powered up its portfolio with a development deal.
Enviromena has bought Parkgate Farm from Innova Renewables.
Officials say the swoop for the Essex-based solar hub will help power more than 10,000 homes every year.
The endeavour, set near Braintree, is expected to begin operations in summer 2028.
The companies say the deal is expected to be “the first of a number of transactions” between the organisations, with Reading-based Enviromena expected to buy 233MWp of solar and 75MW of co-located battery energy storage system projects from Innova before the end of 2026.
Parkgate Farm will stand alongside Enviromena’s Medebridge solar base near South Ockendon, also in Essex, which began operations last year.
Chris Marsh, Enviromena chief executive, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Innova.
“This is a significant opportunity for both businesses, and we’re looking forward to progressing the wider portfolio through construction and into operation.”
Daniel Mushin, chief financial and investment officer at Cheltenham and London-based Innova Renewables, added: “As the first project in a broader relationship between our organisations, this transaction continues our success on our renewable energy pipeline.”
The deal was supported by PKF Corporate Finance, Burges Salmon and OWC.
