Planning secured for 90-home Wiltshire scheme
Plans for 90 new homes in Wiltshire have been given the green light, paving the way for a new residential community.
Allison Homes South West has secured planning permission for a development off Spitfire Road in Calne, featuring a mix of affordable housing and two, three and four-bedroom properties.
The scheme will also include green open space, landscaping and a children's play area, alongside more than £130,000 in contributions towards local highways, sports pitches and a new pedestrian crossing.
The site received outline planning permission in February 2025, with the latest proposals approved by Wiltshire Council’s Northern Area Planning Committee on October 14 following minor adjustments.
Andy Cattermole, planning director at Allison Homes South West, said: “We’re delighted to have secured planning permission for this high-quality scheme.
“The new homes will help meet local housing need while providing green space, sustainable design and investment in local infrastructure.
“After a ten-month determination process, despite the scheme having outline permission and no objections from officers, we’re pleased to be able to move forward and begin delivering these much-needed homes.
“We’ll continue to work closely with council officers, local residents and stakeholders as construction begins over the coming months.”
The approval adds to Allison Homes’ growing development pipeline across the South West, with work recently starting on 67 affordable homes in Crewkerne and 70 properties in Congresbury, in North Somerset.
