Debunking Learning Styles - How does a Flower Smell?

Online Event: Debunking Learning Styles - How does a Flower Smell?

The University of Sunderland have created a suite of free online ‘Inspired Learning Workshops’.

These sessions will not only benefit those who work in a teaching, training or coaching role but also help those who manage teams and are looking for ways to positively influence communication, training, training delivery and experience within their organisation.

Debunking Learning Styles - How does a Flower Smell?

There is no evidence that designing lessons that appeal to different learning styles accelerate learning. Yet teacher and trainers are consistently directed to keep these pseudoscientific style categories in mind. Instead, we should be thinking about how to adapt material to ensure that all have the ability progress and develop.

This session aims to unravel the mystery around learning styles and consider instead how best to support the individual needs of all in the classroom.

This virtual masterclass has been designed for individuals who are interested in enhancing teaching and training experience for the learner. The session will not only benefit those who work in a teaching or training role but also those who manage teams and are looking for ways to positively influence the teaching/training experience.

Presented by Lecturer - Reece Sohdi, Programme leader for the Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship at The University of Sunderland.
