Austin O’Malley brings more than 25 years of product leadership experience to Ipswitch in his role as Chief Product Officer. With responsibility for all product management and R&D activities, Austin is responsible for charting the company’s future product and technology strategies. In his previous role as Executive Vice President of R&D at SolidWorks Corporation, Austin directed the planning and delivery of nine award winning SolidWorks releases. He additionally served as Chief Technology Officer and was one of the original developers of SolidWorks’ award-winning products that created a base of more than two million users with revenue over $500M. As a leader of change, Austin was responsible for integrating several product acquisitions and helping SolidWorks to win Best Places to Work awards from the Boston Globe and Boston Business Journal. Austin was also a technical lead at PTC (formerly Computervision), where he held the positions of Senior Manager and Senior Technology Consultant. Austin holds a B.S. in computer science from Boston University and studied executive management at Harvard Business School.
