Greensleeves Care Greensleeves Care

Profile

Greensleeves Care runs more than 20 homes across the southern half of England and aims to provide the best possible care for older people. It offers residential, dementia, nursing and end of life care, as well as respite and short stays. The organisation has a proud heritage of public service. In 1997, Greensleeves Home Trust emerged from Women’s Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS) whose uniform featured green sleeves – hence the name. As a charitable trust, it is a not-for-profit organisation, so all funds available are invested back into its operations. It follows the Eden Alternative model of care for residents, a set of principles which provide a framework to combat what are referred to as the three plagues of old age: loneliness, helplessness and boredom.
