I joined GBLF in 1st January 2008 when I merged my own firm with the then GBA. I qualified in 1995. I work in Dispute Resolution, and specialise in employment and commercial litigation. I was for many years a claimant clinical negligence lawyer and I still have some links to that work. I started out with a sole practitioner in London. I did a bit of everything – family, wills and probate, employment, litigation and of course, lots of conveyancing. Those were the days when I could rely on estate agents to gift me all the salmon, wine and spirits I would need each Christmas! Oh how it has changed. When I moved to Newcastle, I specialised in employment, commercial litigation and in clinical negligence. I have appeared in the County Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court; and in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal. I currently undertake mainly employment and commercial litigation work. The emphasis is on commercial litigation; contract disputes, building disputes and larger debt disputes. I am involved in Land Registry adjudication matters and Landlord and Tenant disputes. In addition I provide contentious probate advice and have experience in both contentious and non-contentious insolvency work.
