We currently have funding to support both student and graduate placements with local SMEs: The Graduate Apprentices scheme is a low risk, low cost way to introduce a graduate into the business. We offer a free comprehensive recruitment service from advertising to interview as well as 50% of a £16,000 p/a salary for 12 weeks (£2,500 funding). Only North East based SME’s are eligible for our funding and the starting salary must be at least £16,000 p/a. The scheme is open to graduates from any UK University, as long as they graduated in the last three years – this means we’ll be advertising the roles on a national scale to attract the best possible talent. NWE: The Newcastle Work Experience (NWE) term-time scheme offers small and medium sized, North East based organisations the opportunity to utilise the skills of a talented Newcastle University student. Through project based work placements, NWE can present a cost effective and flexible solution to short term business needs while also bringing fresh perspective to the organisation. Through our term-time placements, we support the business to recruit a student for 100 hours, part time, at a cost of only £300 (plus VAT).
