Following her law degree and law school, in 1987, Maxine completed her training contract in London at a Holborn based firm, which specialised in commercial law, litigation and drafting Acts of Parliament. Upon qualifying as a solicitor, she joined a law firm(s) to specialise in commercial litigation and was made partner in 1992. When Maxine had her first child, her enlightened employer helped her to set up a home working environment with a courier bringing case files. After the birth of her second child, Maxine left full time legal practice, attained a PGCE and lectured law to legal executives, HR personnel and more recently, journalism students at Brunel University before re-joining the legal profession. Following a further three years as a practising solicitor, she then launched DictateNow with husband Garry, to offer an enhanced and efficient dictation and outsourcing resource to businesses in a wide range of sectors including legal, medical and accountancy. Maxine’s experience as a solicitor and home working parent led to the formation of DictateNow which currently employs over 300 home based typists. She is currently responsible for the HR, recruitment, people management and financial aspects of the business. She keeps abreast of legal developments with ongoing lecturing, CPD courses and practical application at DictateNow. Maxine is able to offer comment on HR, recruitment and legal issues and trends.
