Pete Snelling is a Principal Technical Consultant within the Global Public Security team based in the UK. In his role, Pete’s responsibilities include raising the awareness of SAS' software within the policing and intelligence community. He has also briefed Members of Parliament on the role of business analytics in policing and has given an interview to the BBC on threat identification in borders. Peter has been part of the Public Security team at SAS since its inception and has worked closely with domain experts and clients around the globe to develop a clear understanding of the challenges faced by public security organisations. He has previously focused on the more general UK public sector defining and communicating the value of business intelligence and analysis to these organisations. Peter has also helped clients looking for solutions in data management, business intelligence, forecasting, predictive modelling and text analysis to understand the business value of these techniques in manufacturing, retail, finance and the public sector. Pete has spent 17 years at SAS in a variety of roles across the organisation, including Heading up the Business Intelligence Practice for 4 years. Prior to SAS, Pete has worked in fund management, banking and telecoms producing and delivering management information solutions.
