Enterprise programme proves a hit with local employers
An enterprise programme aimed at equipping business owners with the essential skills to take their business forward is proving a hit with local employers, according to the programme deliverers. The year-long Powerhouse Business Growth Programme consists of a series of workshops and one-to-one support from an experienced business mentor. Participants will also have the opportunity to travel oversees to see and experience best practice within service sector industries at firsthand. The programme, which starts in September, was developed by Durham Business School. A wide variety of local businesses have already signed up to take part in the programme, including a firm of financial consultants, two local charities, a graphic design house and an independent home security specialist.Jeremy Wright, who manages the Powerhouse Business Growth Programme at Durham Business School, said: “We are delighted with the level of interest we’ve received so far. “The course is ideal for motivated business owners or managing directors of privately owned businesses in South Tyneside who have desire to increase their sales, profits and personal wealth. “We want to help them to grow and develop themselves and their businesses so they can achieve their full potential and realise their business ambitions.“The Powerhouse Business Growth Programme is part of the South Tyneside Local Economic Growth Initiative (LEGI), which aims to promote enterprise and entrepreneurship across the borough.
