A couple of nights ago I saw a woman get on the bus wearing three-quarter length trousers and the thinnest, most insubstantial slipper-shoes I’ve ever seen, with no socks. This at 9pm on a cold Monday night, with a vicious wind and icy puddles everwhere. Madness, or am I just getting old?
