Prisoners pretty in pink

A US prison has forced its inmates to wear pink jumpsuits and pink slippers in an attempt to stop them reoffending. The prison’s walls have also been painted pink to create ‘a calming influence’. Sheriff Clint Low claims that since he introduced the colour change at Mason County Jail in Texas reoffending is down by 70%. “Working inmates get a choice to work outside or sit inside, and some choose to sit inside because they don’t want people to see them,” Sheriff Clint Low told the San Angelo Standard Times.
