Student doesn't notice gunshot wound
In town centres all across the country, there are often men posturing and bragging after a few drinks about how ‘hard’ they are. These macho individuals could learn something from today’s story…
17-year-old Cameron Kelly, a 6’ 3“, 17 stone shot-putter, discus thrower, and runner, was on his way to school in Michigan when he heard a gunshot. After checking with a passer-by that he hadn’t been hit, he continued on his way to school and athletics training. It was only in the changing room when he removed his jacket that one of his teammates told him he was covered in blood. Cameron said he wasn’t sure how he made it all the way to school: “I just dealt with it. I wanted to go to practice.”
The bullet lodged in the thick muscles on Cameron’s back. His doctor told the family that for now, it would be risky to remove the bullet from his back. Because it is lodged in his left side and Cameron throws with his right hand, he plans to return to the field.
