In the news: In an apparent attempt to end Apple’s domination of online music, MySpace are in talks with four major record labels to create a rival music download site which, as well as competing with iTunes, will help distinguish MySpace from rivals Facebook.

Staying with iTunes, the BBC will soon offer a series of high profile programmes to viewers via the download site. The list of shows includes ‘Little Britain’ and ‘Robin Hood’, and marks the broadcaster’s first attempt at getting viewers to pay directly for content.

Microsoft has begun testing Internet Explorer 8 according to a report by Webuser. The new browser is expected to be demoed at the MIX Conference in Las Vegas next month.

The BBC reports that despite over two thirds of the UK regularly accessing the internet, the digital divide is still growing, with the elderly, less well educated and poorer people losing out. Do you agree with this statement?
