Entrants wanted for North East Woman Entrepreneur awards

Organisers of the North East Woman Entrepreneur of the year awards, Women Into the Network (WIN) are calling for applicants to submit their entries for this year’s competition.

The awards aim to recognise and reward the contribution being made to the North East economy by women and are specifically targeted at women owner-managers running small and medium enterprises in the region. Organisers WIN said that they are looking for women whom have shown creativity, determination, dedication, courage and of course entrepreneurial skills and talent.

The award categories include ‘The Susan Dobson Award for Entrepreneurship’, ‘Best Newcomer’, ‘Young Woman Entrepreneur’,’ Women in Retail’, ‘Woman Social Entrepreneur’, ‘Best Cultural and Creative Business’, ‘Rural Woman Entrepreneur’, ’‘Woman in Technology or Innovation’ and ‘Woman in the Service Sector’.

The Awards will help raise the profile of women in the region who in turn, act as role models to help inspire other women to become entrepreneurs. The ceremony will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Newcastle on Friday 21November 2008.
