North East law firm onto a winner

North East law firm Winn Solicitors has celebrated its major expansion by hosting an evening of entertainment at its office in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Around 400 staff members and associates attended the event, which also marked the second anniversary of moving to the Brinkburn Street site, previously occupied by a supermarket before it was converted into office space.

New plans to develop and expand the offices have recently been completed, enabling Winn Solicitors to recruit another 70 staff.

Director Dawn Winn said: “It’s fantastic to get some familiar faces together and thank them for their contribution to our success. A lot of people here have worked extremely hard, and that’s helped us to expand and create some really exciting employment opportunities for local people.

“It’s been widely publicised that lots of people are losing jobs at the moment, so it’s great to be able to buck that trend. We hold similar events annually to say a big thank you to our staff and those that have helped in some way, but we’ve added cause to celebrate this year so this one is extra special!”

The firm has also announced plans to open a further office in Heaton once renovations have been completed, which, it is hoped, will result in a further 100 jobs over the next 18 months.
