Two day turnaround key to success for Cornerstone
Service levels have helped a Tees Valley company increase its market share during the downturn and cement itself as a key player in the North East’s business solutions market.
Cornerstone Business Solutions (CBS), based in Thornaby, helps businesses improve the efficiency of their IT and telephony systems. The company has achieved its six-month turnover target in half the predicted time since its launch in June.
Now, one of its key customers - Financial Advice Bureau (FAB) - has named CBS as the force behind recent transformations at its head office in Middlesbrough.
FAB approached the communication specialists when it had only two days to expand its premises due to an almost overnight increase in demand from its clients.
Senior partner, Dave Harvey, said: “I returned from my holiday and announced to everyone that we were moving lock, stock and barrel - and all in two days.
“After 20 years in the same place this was no small task but the proactive and prompt way in which CBS supported us really impressed me. An engineer attended our premises the next day to give one-to-one support, which enabled the move on Wednesday to be problem-free and by the end of the day the entire IT and telephony systems were up and running.
“We took in some £400,000 of new investment that week and had it all processed as if the move had never happened.”
Chris Petty, CBS’ director, said: “Lots of people have asked me why I launched my own company in this testing economic climate. All I can say is that I believed in my people, processes and services to such an extent that it made perfect sense regardless. “There is always room for a company to thrive if it excels in supporting its customers; to an extent it can make us indispensible.”
