Improvisation experts get regional entrepreneurs pitch perfect
AN improvisation expert is looking to help the region’s innovators take their ideas to market with a two-day workshop.
Paul Z Jackson, who has helped develop the talents of Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones will help North East entrepreneurs master their own performances with an innovative event organised by Newcastle Science City.
The workshop is designed to help entrepreneurs fine-tune their investor pitch and commercialise their ideas and introduces attendees to a valuable network of like-minded people, resources and management tools.
Simon Green, project manager at Newcastle Science City, said: “Feedback from our launch event in September 2009 and subsequent events has been superb. Attendees said the work shop was quite unlike anything else they’d seen before due to its powerful and entertaining style of delivery.
“Previous participants took away an energetic and vibrant approach to pitching their business ideas and said the tools and techniques demonstrated stayed with them a long time after the event had ended and had dramatic positive effects.”
Regional expertsfrom Sphera Consulting, RMT, BHP Law and Murgitroyd & Company will also be on hand to provide advice on critical issues relating to getting an idea market-ready.
Advice ranges from initial company formation to IP protection, legal considerations, business planning, exploitation strategies, funding and finance raising, commercialisation, licensing, and business growth.
The event, which takes place on 16 and 17 March at Newcastle Science City’s headquarters at Time Central, Gallowgate, Newcastle
