Ward Hadaway in Newcastle are celebrating the appointment of one of the top commercial lawyers in the North East.
Mark Whitehead joins the firm from Watson Burton where he was head of the commercial team, and the chemical, pharmaceuticals and materials group and a member of the energy and utilities team.
He has spent the past 14 years working for a wide range of clients, from major multi-national organisations to smaller project development businesses. Mark has also worked in an advisory capacity with Narec, GDF Suez Energy and Akzo Nobel
Mark said: “I know from my work with clients both regionally and nationally that it is a firm with an excellent reputation, and I am delighted to be joining the firm.”
“I was looking for a firm that would provide a friendly and supportive environment in which to work whilst providing the breadth of expertise and experience that would enable me to deliver excellent service to the clients I work with.”
Colin Hewitt, Partner and Head of Commercial Law at Ward Hadaway, said: “Mark’s reputation in the energy, utilities, chemicals and pharmaceuticals sectors speaks for itself and he will bring an added dimension to the services we already offer to our clients.
“The fact that we have been able to recruit someone of his experience and standing in the market speaks volumes about the way in which Ward Hadaway is progressing as a firm and about our ambitions for the future.”
Mark Whitehead is the tenth new lawyer to join Ward Hadaway in the last nine months.
