Innovative Local Law firm nominated for National Award
Ward Hadaway’s Creative Industries Team has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award, recognising the firms’ contribution to a variety of creative businesses.
Alongside five other firms, Ward Hadaway is now in the running for the Excellence in Innovation Awards at The Law Society Excellence Awards 2011.
The team, believes to be the first of its kind to be established by a top 100 UK law firm, is headed by partner Laura Harper, who is highly experienced in this field.
She commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for such an important and prestigious award.
“We set up the Creative Industries Team because we thought that an important need was not being met, in terms of high quality, accessible legal advice for creative enterprises.”
The team now provides services for a range of creative businesses, from technology companies and fashion brands to film, music and digital businesses.
Laura added: “We wanted to provide something that was different, both in terms of the service we give our clients and the way in which we delivered that service and I believe we have achieved that.
“Being shortlisted for this award demonstrates not only that we are successfully providing something which is innovative and valued by clients, but also that the increasing importance of the creative industries industry to the wider economy is being recognised.”
To be nominated for the award, Ward Hadaway were required to outline the reasons why they set up the Creative Industries team, the benefits it has brought to the firm, and evidence of how it has helped clients.
Several former clients supplied testimonials to verify the excellent service Ward Hadaway has provided, and for Laura and her team reading their accounts was just as rewarding as hearing they had been shortlisted for the award.
Jamie Martin, managing partner at Ward Hadaway said: “As a firm, we always strive to offer innovative, relevant services to our clients and to tailor what we do to address their needs first and foremost.
“This is why we established the Creative Industries Team and this nomination is a valuable endorsement of the excellent work which the team is carrying out.”
