Northumbrian Water staff raise cash for Prince’s Trust
A masquerade ball organised by Northumbrian Water employees has raised more than £2,000 for the Prince’s Trust.
The team of nine from the company are competing with 80 others as part of the Trust’s Million Makers challenge to raise as much money as possible over a six month period for the Trust in their area.
The event was held at the Rainton Meadows Arena, Houghton le Spring, where 180 partygoers danced the night away whilst also donating to a good cause.
Event organiser and chair of Northumbrian Water’s Million Makers team, Darren Walker said: “The masquerade ball was an amazing evening. Last year’s event raised £1,300 and we were hoping to reach a similar level of success this year, so we are thrilled that we’ve smashed this target.
“We are all touched by the generosity of the guests, with more than £400 raised from the auction and £1,600 from the raffle and party games during the evening. All of the proceeds raised will go towards changing the lives of young people in the North East.”
The Princes Trust has helped more than 600,000 young people over the past 25 years, more than three quarters of who have gone into work, education or training.
