North East showcased as key international renewable energies hub

North East Renewable Energies Group, Energi Coast, will showcase the strengths of the region’s supply chain at a major international conference in Holland.

Alex Dawson, Chairman of Energi Coast and CEO of TAG Energy Solutions, will address delegates from across the continent at the annual European wind energy conference on November 30.

Speaking at a UK supply chain component of the conference, Mr Dawson will highlight the North East as a key strategic location for offshore renewables.

Amsterdam will host EWEA Offshore 2011, where industry minds will meet to exchange knowledge, forge business relationships and create connections with influential people around the world.

It will involve at least 460 exhibitors, and six Energi Coast members will be exhibiting at the conference including Heerema Fabrication Group BV, JDR Cable Systems Ltd, MPI Offshore, TAG Energy Solutions, Tata Steel and Technip Offshore Wind Ltd.

Mr Dawson said: “North East England has an enviable record for delivering high quality products to offshore energy developments and is investing to become a global hub for the offshore renewables industry.

“We are expanding as an industry and Europe can benefit greatly from what we have to offer.

“We hope that taking the message to a globally recognised event will offer a huge boost to North East England and further highlight the region’s credentials for delivering large scale projects across energy sectors.”
