Welcome to the Business & IP Centre, Newcastle
Newcastle City Council’s Library Service, Northumbria University, Newcastle University and the British Library are working together to develop a new service to businesses and entrepreneurs. The Newcastle Business & IP Centre is planned for launch in 2012 and will become the first centre outside London to help businesses grow by providing them with the information, skills and resources crucial to success.
Business & IP Centres are unique business information hubs, aiming to help people launch new businesses and to help current businesses grow. The original Centre, at the British Library in London, has supported over 250,000 people with critical business information and advice over the past five years.
In anticipation of this development and in partnership with Newcastle Science City we are delighted to launch a programme aimed at entrepreneurs and innovators; start-ups; micro, and small to medium businesses. Through a series of events, workshops, public talks and 1-1 coaching sessions, experts will share their knowledge of business development and intellectual property all underpinned by high quality resources and staff support at the City Library.
This builds upon Newcastle Science City’s proven track record in delivering high quality business-focussed events, and Newcastle City Council and Northumbria and Newcastle Universities’ commitment to enhancing services to business communities.
This is the first step in working towards a full launch of the Centre next year. To make this initiative a success we really need your help. We need to demonstrate that the business community of the North East will engage with the Centre and that we can deliver a valuable service to entrepreneurs and businesses
