Appreciating nature with Survival Training UK
For a unique but fun filled team building course, a birthday party with a difference, or if you simply wish to learn how to survive in the wild and catch and cook your own food in these difficult economic times, then the man to contact is James Reay of Survival Training UK.
Following a career in the army that took him to some of the most challenging and hostile terrain in the world, James decided to set up his own business so he could pass on his extensive knowledge of bushcraft and survival techniques to others.
However although he had a passion for the outdoors and many survival related skills, James lacked knowledge and skills in relation to self-employment so he contacted NBSL for support as they had been recommended to him by a family member who had also used their service.
James met with Julia Weldon (a Business Adviser who provides Enterprise Coaching based at the Hexham branch), who worked with him over a period of time to build his confidence and encourage him to develop his business skills further. As well as receiving one to one coaching he attended a variety of group appointments and workshops to develop his skills in market research, business planning, marketing and finance.
James carried out a considerable amount of market research and worked hard to prepare a business plan using the skills he had learnt whilst being coached by NBSL. He has now started to trade and has set up a website at http://survivaltraininguk.co.uk/james.html through which to market the business, offering eight and 24 hour survival courses at the Kielder Water Forest Park in Northumberland. Courses are based on his ‘laugh and learn’ teaching ethos and are suitable for a variety of customers, from organisations that require an unusual team building experience to school parties and individuals seeking new skills. For more information and to book a course, contact James today on 07712 172 768!
