Chartered Management Accountants support North West Charities
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) hosted the 16th North West Charity Forum giving advice to local organisations as a practical way to support the charity sector; providing an opportunity to get up-to-date with the latest thinking in the sector within the region. Speakers from the Charity Commission and The Big Lottery Fund presented on Tues 7 February 2012, from 7.00pm at the Barton Grange Hotel, Garstang Road, Barton, Preston, PR3 5AA.
The first speaker Janet Slade explained the changes within the Charity Commission arising out of the strategic review and the affect the advice and guidance offered by the Commission. She then talked about the main lessons learned from the Charity Commission compliance work in 2010/2011.
This was followed by a presentation focussing on The Big Lottery Fund as an organisation and the funding that they distribute covering who The Big Lottery Fund are, what they do, some of their available funding opportunities.
