Insolvency export Steve Ross has taken over as chairperson of the North East arm of insolvency trade body R3.

Steve is director in the Corporate Recovery department of RSM Tenon’s Sunderland office, and will serve two years in the new post.

He commented: “Insolvency practitioners play a crucial, but often unrecognised role in saving businesses that would otherwise cease to exist, and part of R3’s work is to raise awareness of the positive impact that our profession has in terms of the economy and employment.”

Property consultancy, Johnson Tucker LLP has appointed a new associate partner in investment agency.

Douglas Cranston joins the practice from Jones Lang LaSalle, and will work to provide investment advice to pension funds, property companies and private investors, on an array of regional commercial property assets.

Partner, Andrew Tucker, said: “Whilst investors are under no illusion that 2012 will once again be a challenging year, the downturn also offers significant opportunities for those willing to take a more long term view. In this regard, it’s the ideal time for us to further develop our investment arm.”

Get Carter Productions have recruited former Capital Radio Group regional creative director, Kim Galvin.

Managing director Paul Carter said: “It’s no secret that Kim is widely regarded as one of the UKs top creative minds. I’m so delighted I have finally managed to persuade her to join us and build on the success of Get Carter Productions.”

The addition of Kim brings the company’s collective radio experience to well over a century.

Sheila Smith previous worked at Marriot Hotels as an account manager, and comes armed with extensive knowledge of the conferencing business.

Marketing company Mediaworks has expanded its team with 9 new recruits in the past 90 days.

A windfall of client wins over the past 6 months has necessitated rapid growth, with the addition of six recent graduates, one apprentice and two new started with industry experience.
