The Institute of Directors (IoD) has appointed a new Chairman. Ian Dormer has replaced Dr Neville Bain after he stepped down. Dormer has been involved with the IoD for over 20 years, having previously served as Regional Chairman for the North East.

Simon Walker, Director General of the IoD, said: “I am delighted with Ian’s appointment. He has proved his commitment to the best interests of British business during many years of involvement with the IoD and its members.

Boldon based, Beyond Digital Solution is adding to it’s Management team after an extremely successful year.

Beyond Digital has added 4 new members to it’s management team after the company tripled it’s turnover in 2011. Chris Wigmore, Sonnali Craddock, Hannah Knowles and Sean Kennedy have all joined the team with a range of experience and skills between them.

Louise Richley, Managing Director of Beyond Digital, said: “After such a successful year we wanted to boost the operations in the North East, which has such a high reputation for skills within creative industries.

“I know all the resources to grow the business and continue Beyond Digital’s success are available in the North East and I have proved this with four excellent appointments.”

The North Eastern Local Enterprise Partnership (NELEP) has appointed a new Deputy Director.

Edward Twiddy has been appointed as director of NELEP and tasked with pushing forward economic growth within the region.

NELEP Chair, Paul Woolston said: “We are very happy to welcome Ed to the North Eastern Local Enterprise Partnership. His experience at the Treasury provides him within invaluable insight into the challenges we are facing.

“He brings a wealth of experience to the role and we are confident in his ability to lead the development of innovative strategies to tackle the economic pressures currently facing the region.”

Jones Lang LaSalle have appointed a new building surveyor after increased demand for their services.

The Newcastle office of Jones Lang LaSalle increased their Project and Development Services team with Chartered Building Surveyor Richard Hannen.

Previously based in the Leeds Jones Lang LaSalle office, Hannen will be expanding the team’s knowledge through his expertise in Due Diligence Surveys and Dilapidations.

Martin Smith, Associate Director at Jones Lang LaSalle commented “We needed to take on an experienced Building Surveyor who could immediately assist us in continuing to provide a high level of service to our expanding portfolio of clients and Richard fits the bill perfectly.”

BHP Law in Newton Aycliffe gains a new face.

Rebecca Stephenson has joined the team of BHP Law as a solicitor, bringing with her experience in family and criminal law.

Rebecca says: “ I am really pleased to have joined BHP Law which is a large regional firm with an excellent reputation.“

She also added: “As mine is a new role at BHP Law, I’m not taking over existing cases so am available now for anyone who needs legal advice over separation, divorce, financial matters and the custody of children.”
