Business law firm DWF have confirmed the reappointment of Andrew Leaitherland as managing partner for a further three year term.

Since Andrew’s appointment in 2006, DWF has seen sustained double digit, year-on-year growth in revenue and net profit.

Chairman, Alan Benzie, added “Andrew has been the prominent force behind the consistent and highly successful growth realised by the business in recent years.

“His re-appointment was uncontested, recognising the partnership’s belief that with his continuing leadership the firm will achieve its strategic ambitions and undoubtedly much more.”

Rob Langley, partner and head of the Construction and Engineering Team at Muckle LLP has been elected President of Newcastle Law Society for 2012/13.

The prestigious position recognises Rob’s national reputation as a solicitor in the region.

On his election, Rob said: “It is a great honour to be elected by my peers to the role of President of the Newcastle upon Tyne Law Society. As well as representing the legal profession in the region, I will also be discussing the challenges facing the profession nationally and speaking to government on legislative issues.”

Durham Tees Valley Airport has appointed We Do to deliver its marketing activity, and Emma Ormerod will take the lead.

Emma, an Account Director at We Do, previously worked at the airport for eight years, and will deliver the new strategy being developed by the Peel Group.

She said: “This is a challenge which I and the rest of the We Do team are looking forward to. Durham Tees Valley has been through some pretty tough times but I firmly believe we can work with the Peel Group and the local team led by Airport Manager Shaun Woods to stabilise the current business and move forward to develop new opportunities.”

KPMG in Newcastle has recruited three specialists as it invests further in its ability to advise North East businesses on tax.

Lois Tack will focus on transfer pricing, advising inbound and outbound companies on planning, documentation, and thin capitalisation; Michael Doran is a manager specialising in international executive services and Paul Price will lead KPMG’s indirect tax team.
