Ebiquity continue North Tyneside success

Marketing performance specialists Ebiquity have reported significant growth in workforce and market share, as it completes its first successful year in North Tyneside.

The AIM listed company has added 75 new posts since relocating its media monitoring operations from London, opening a £1m office at Quorum Business Park in January last year.

Ebiquity chose the Quorum base, despite being courted for a move to Ireland, after securing funding for the project thanks to Tyne and Wear Development Company.

Monitoring and advertising analysis at the base goes to help clients across the UK, Europe, US, Australia and the Far East, including businesses such as BMW and Procter and Gamble.

Paul Adams, from Ebiquity, said: “We’re delighted to have been able to grow the workforce beyond our initial predictions.

“We also have good potential for further growth and the creation of more jobs in the year ahead as new opportunities emerge and we continue to enhance services.

“A big part of our success has been the skills base and workforce we have access to here – particularly a vibrant community of international speakers who are essential to support our international services.

“Tyne and Wear Development Company, who pulled out all the stops to help us realise this goal, have also played a key part in our success.

“They have continued to provide excellent advice and have been a great source of support whatever help we’ve needed.”

Tyne and Wear Development Company acted as an advisor to the firm as it looked to move to the region, securing investment of £200,000 towards the project.

The company has also had successes in helping to locate Tesco Bank, Balfour Beatty and the Government’s Marine Management Organisation in the area.

Paul Buie, manager of Tyne and Wear Development Company said: “Having come down to a choice between Ireland and Tyne and Wear, it’s gratifying to see Ebiquity expand and already exceed expectations after choosing to locate its base here.

“Recruitment has gone particularly well and the company has been able to take advantage of the skilled workforce we have in the region to increase their market share and create new opportunities for growth.

“From our point of view, it’s not just a case of attracting an investment to Tyne and Wear and then walking away.

“We want investors like Ebiquity to develop strong roots in the North East and providing long-term support and building a lasting relationship with the business is fundamental to our approach.

“The success of Ebiquity alongside other projects such as Tesco Bank demonstrates the ongoing attraction of Tyne and Wear as a location for business investment.

“It also makes all the hard work behind the scenes to realise these investments worthwhile when you consider the long-term benefits in terms of jobs and investment to the region.”
