CIMA help de-stress and motivate
Local management accountants have met this month in Derby to learn how to be well prepared and motivated for their professional exams. This is will help them avoid stress and be motoivated for work and their exams.
Figures newly applied by CIMA from the Health and Safety Executive show that companies in Derby could be losing as much as £5.2 million annually through lost worker days due to work stress related illness. Helping employees understand and know what to do about stress and have a healthy work –life balance could significantly reduce the amount of work stress experienced by staff, saving local companies thousands of pounds each year and producing more motivated and productive staff.
Local CIMA students are being offered additional support by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants this month as it gets closer to their professional exams with this motivation workshop in Derby.
Duncan Brodie, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and speaker at the event has pointed out, ‘Everyone suffers from a poor work-life balance, you, all your priorities and your business. With things the way they are in the economy now, employees can be worried about not being seen to do everything they can be doing to keep businesses going. This latest application of recent statistics by CIMA show that to dismiss a focus on your work-life balance could damage the company books far more than you think.’
CIMA run a series of events for students, members and guests throughout Derby and the East Midlands on a regular basis across the year. For further information visit www.cimaglobal.com/localevents
