Lawyer is PG tipped for Team Valley success

A GROWING law firm has moved into bigger premises and recruited a new partner to broaden its range of services and extend its regional presence.

Phillip Dean, a solicitor specialising in commercial property, established PG Legal Ltd last year. The firm has now moved into new premises in Gateshead’s Team Valley and has welcomed Mr Dean’s former university flatmate and experienced litigation lawyer, Jonathan Fletcher to the PG family.

Mr Fletcher, who specialises in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, brings both new specialisms and a wider geographical client base to the business; he has 19 years litigation experience with Jacksons Law Firm, a leading Teesside practice, gaining recognition in relation to his niche equine law expertise.

Mr Dean said: “It’s great to have Jonathan on board. We have been friends since we were students and his expertise and experience will really help with our rapid expansion plans.

“PG’s first year exceeded all expectations and we are now growing our client base and our own staff numbers, so it was the right time to move into bigger offices.

“The Team Valley is the perfect place for PG Legal. We believe that positioning ourselves amongst the hundreds of successful businesses situated in the Valley leaves PG as a commercial law practice ideally and conveniently placed to advise and assist local businesses”.

Mr Fletcher commented “I’ve worked in the Team Valley before and have always felt that there are huge opportunities here for a law firm providing a commercial legal service to local businesses with a common sense and client centred approach. I am delighted to be back to see if that potential can be realised with PG.

“From here we are within minutes of Gateshead, Newcastle and Durham, and have plans to extend our reach into Teesside within the next few months. We are delighted to offer our services across the whole of the North East and because we’re located on the Team Valley, we don’t charge Quayside prices.

Mr Dean has more than 15 years’ experience working with public and private sector bodies with law giants including Ward Hadaway and Leeds-based Gordon’s. His clients have included retail groups such as The Works Stores, Morrison’s Supermarkets and Greggs the Bakers. He also has strong ties with the health and education sectors, and he also specialises in working with schools keen to convert to academy status.

PG Legal is growing rapidly. From a serviced office occupied solely by Mr Dean, the firm now has new premises with its own meeting room facilities, four staff and has just taken on its first apprentice, 22-year-old Kirsty Logan Summers, from Winlaton.

Mr Dean, who lives in Marsden in South Tyneside, said: “I’ve built up the firm from scratch and we already have a number of prestige local authority and private sector clients.

“I’ve always worked well with Jonathan and as he, like me, has a young family, our priorities, motivation and goals coincide nicely. Our first priority for PG is to make its mark in the Team Valley and offer local businesses a commercial but personal service.”
