PHS DATASHED INVEST £250,000 INTO NEW FACILITY

PHS Datashred has invested £250,000 into a new facility and additional machinery at its newGatesheaddepot. The 30,000sqft site will be fully operational by the 1stJuly 2012 creating new jobs, as well as ensuring existing employees can easily make the transition.

The move to theFollingsbyParksite will provide a more central location enabling PHS Datashred to offer an excellent service to its clients based in the North East. One of the advantages of being closer to its client is the reduction of fuel required to collect confidential data resulting in a more environmentally friendly option.

PHS Datashred has also invested in state of the art collection vehicles including a Rotopress bin vehicle and the Shred Tech MDX1. Both are new to the industry and offer clients the highest level of security in on-site shredding and a great way to collect bulk confidential papers.

Richard Tucker, PHS Datashred’s Area Operations Manager said: “Our vehicles can collect paper, media, uniforms, cardboard and dry mixed recycling which will all be treated and sent to the recycling mills where they are reused to make new products. The vehicles have the capacity to shred onsite so our clients can witness its destruction offering additional peace of mind.”

The site has already achieved the quality management standard ISO:9001 and will shortly be awarded the environmental accreditation ISO:14001. Richard said: ““We are thrilled to be receiving ISO:14001 accreditation, it’s a testament to the company’s commitment to the environment. We are dedicated to continuingly finding new ways of reducing, re-using and recycling waste. “

The new site will also offer a personal shredding service which small businesses will be able to take advantage of. There will be no minimum requirement for shredding and customers can witness their data being destroyed on site.
