New appointment for training provider

Assistive technology specialist e-Quality Learning has appointed a new business and customer development manager to strengthen its senior team’s expertise and support its ongoing expansion.

Highly-experienced Michelle Wickenden, from the Midlands, has joined the Tyneside-based company to manage existing relationships and help develop new ones for both business clients and end-users.

The training provider delivers online and onsite support to people with various learning disabilities. With vast knowledge of both the public and private sector and strong relationships with practitioners involved in helping people with such disabilities, Michelle will play a key role in helping the organisation reach new customers with its market-leading technology.

Managing director at e-Quality Learning, Chris Quickfall, said: “We are so pleased that Michelle has decided to join our team. She brings a wealth of industry experience and her naturally caring nature means she works wonders when it comes to adapting and updating our training technology to cater for our customers and individual end-users.”

Fast-growing e-Quality Learning provide assistive software training, delivering one-to-one training to people with disabilities to help with challenges in their employment or education and in the last six months alone has already helped over 2,000 people across the UK. Funding for this resource comes from the likes of Student Finance England and Job Centre Plus amongst other higher education facilities and government bodies such as the NHS.

With previous experience working for local authorities and several other companies, Michelle is well versed on the obstacles that face disabled learners in the workplace, in education and when seeking employment.

On her new appointment, she said: “I am delighted to be working with the team at e-Quality Learning. The company has an exceptional reputation in the marketplace for utilising new technology to assist people with learning disabilities.

“Joining at such an exciting time for the company has given me a platform to bridge the gap between showing what type of assistive technology is out there and enabling disabled learners to seek and use it. The company will help develop my role by allowing me to take on more responsibilities and push boundaries.

“The greatest buzz is receiving the amazing feedback from our learners. People often don’t realise how effective assistive technology is and with our tailored training style each individual user quickly develops the necessary skills, knowledge and an understanding of the benefits of the training and the software in relation to their course of study or work environment,” added Michelle.

Award-winning e-Quality Learning started in 2010 and continues to grow with its ongoing recruitment drive.

Its services are aimed at large corporations and government bodies such as DWP, Access to Work, the NHS, Student Finance England as well as universities, colleges and schools that all have learners who would benefit from this style of assistive technology training.
