Preventative protection could save your business
Many people use Microsoft Outlook to store their contacts, schedule meetings and communicate with people through email. As the amount of information grows in any of these areas, the risk that a system failure could result in data loss grows as well.
Without access to Outlook, business can come to a standstill. So it’s important to prepare for interruptions or outages to minimize downtime.
Archive and backup data regularly
System managers, make this your mantra: Backup, backup, backup. There are ways to easily backup Outlook-specific data. By creating archive PST files for email, contact and calendar information, should a problem occur, you can easily restore files.
Distribute the data
Various programs allow you to create files in the cloud and access them from any location. Look for a product that creates folders on your computer and syncs data in those folders to the same folders in your sync your Outlook data with email, calendar and contact applications on those platforms. Once set up, the synchronization happens in the background and keeps the data on each platform in sync with the others.
The advantage to this is having access to your Outlook information from anywhere. Should you experience a system failure, data loss or corruption, you will be able to continue working. You also have access to a recovery source once your original Outlook platform is back up. Since the data will be current, you experience little to no downtime while the system is being recovered.
Keep Outlook safe and accessible
With minimal effort and expense, you can have multiple mechanisms in place to protect your Outlook resources. Critical to day-to-day business operations – and your overall peace of mind – having immediate access to your data after a system failure makes the time and money a good investment.
