New Tweet-Filtering App Saves Time and Money

Frequent social networkers frustrated with searching through Twitter ‘white noise’ will breathe a sigh of relief with the launch of TweetDig, the user-friendly Twitter filtering service.

This unique application helps users to save time, tailor Twitter to their interests by prioritising content and help people who use Twitter for business save money through reduced man hours.

The service, which is free to use for basic accounts, has been described as ‘Outlook, but for Twitter’ in that it offers advanced, flexible organisation of Tweets similar to the filing of emails.

Ideal for desktop users already familiar with Twitter applications, TweetDig sorts Tweets into folders in real time, helping to rid timelines of uninteresting or irrelevant content. It can be used on all browsers and synchronises Tweets across devices, so users never have to read the same Tweet twice.

Filters can be as sophisticated or as simple as necessary and can be based on almost any Tweet attribute such as keywords, hashtags and usernames.

The service is particularly aimed at people who use desktop Twitter for work, such as web developers, marketers, bloggers and journalists, for whom the efficient use of time is of utmost importance.

TweetDig is the brainchild of UK-based web developers Wayne Bloore and Michael Heap who founded the service after identifying a lack of existing tools for prioritising and filtering Tweets.

Wayne says: “With Twitter now boasting 500 million active users and handling an estimated 1.6 billion searches a day, the priority is to give regular Twitter users the relevant information they want at their finger-tips and weed out the dross. TweetDig gets this down to a tee.

“Many existing filtering tools are very limited in their filtering capabilities and some are browser plug-ins that hide Tweets from timelines, in some cases contravening Twitter’s API guidelines. TweetDig is fully compliant with these guidelines and exceeds the offerings of other applications on the market as it offers advanced, flexible filtering as a full-featured standalone product, with folders to help with prioritising.

“TweetDig has been developed by Tweeters for Tweeters and created in partnership with technology and marketing experts. As a new service, we are improving all the time and actively invite suggestions for new features.”
