Law firm acquisition strengthens Private Client Service team

Newcastle law firm, Clarke Mairs, is celebrating the growth of its Private Client Services division following the acquisition of Neil McQueen Duncan & Egner.

Neil McQueen Duncan & Egner was established by Arthur Neil McQueen in 1946 and over the last 66 years has offered a wide range of legal services, for both commercial enterprises and individuals.

Senior partner, Giles Egner, will join Clarke Mairs as a consultant and his son, Mark Egner, will become a partner.

Clarke Mairs’ Private Client Services division is headed up by Alexandra Bartrope, who specialises in Wills, Probate and Estate Administration and Trusts. She is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has grown the department over the past two years.

Giles Egner has practised as a solicitor since 1968 and became a partner with Neil McQueen, Duncan & Egner in 1971. He said: “Mark and I believe this to be an excellent opportunity for us to join a leading Newcastle City Centre law firm whilst continuing to offer our clients a first rate legal service with the support and back-up available as part of a larger practice.”
