Begbies Traynor appoints senior insolvency manager
Senior insolvency manager Ian Royle has been appointed to lead the Teesside office of rescue and recovery specialist Begbies Traynor as it builds its presence in the region.
With more than 12 years’ experience in insolvency, Ian started his career with Wilson Pitts in Leeds in 2000 before the firm joined Begbies Traynor Group in 2006. He sat the Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency in 2005 and in 2008 he passed the JIEB exams to become a licensed Insolvency Practitioner.
Ian has extensive experience in corporate insolvency with specific experience in the SME market, working across a range of sectors. He also has excellent knowledge of bank driven restructuring, recovery and insolvency having spent two years on secondment with a major clearing bank specialising in commercial real estate and restructuring.
Ian was promoted to insolvency manager in 2009, based at the firm’s Leeds office, later becoming senior insolvency manager. In his new role, Ian will head Begbies Traynor’s office in Thornaby, Stockton which opened two years ago.

Ian will primarily be supported by the firm’s directors of insolvency Simon Lundy and Gillian Sayburn together with director of banking advisory services, Mark Whitaker, corporate finance partner Chris Appleby and commercial finance consultant Ian Pratt.
