Driving Customers to Your Door
The 5 Keys to Creating a Powerful Inbound Marketing Campaign
Inbound or content marketing is one way to drive your brand forward and position you as a leading thinker in your field. It has the ability to put real grunt behind driving potential customers back to your website or blog where you can convert them into leads and potentially sales.
For a successful campaign that drives customers right to your door while driving your brand ahead, you need 5 essential ingredients:
1. Your Roadmap
Know your destination. Where do you want to be as a result of this drive? Are you aiming for a high-traffic blog or website, and content that is shared by others all over the world? Are you aiming for brand awareness and blanket-coverage for your brand? Or both?
2. Organise your garage
Where you park your content. This can be spread across various channels (Facebook, YouTube), or can live in one place, i.e. your website or blog. This is where you pick up fuel and house all your auxiliary information.
3. Put the fuel in - fill up regularly
Building a rich seam of relevant, insightful and original content is essential. This can be in the form of blog posts, info-graphics, videos, images and galleries, links to other relevant blogs. It’s the content that generates movement - people visiting to check out your site or blog, sharing your content and commenting on your activity.
4. Choose the right vehicle
Use Twitter as your main engine to provide the thrust to your campaign. Circulate your content and seed it out into the ether, Use complimentary social networks - LinkedIn, your Facebook page and YouTube to reinforce key content items and generate chatter on each. Remember that Twitter can handle a lot more activity than Facebook and LinkedIn, where your contacts are less likely to appreciate a bombardment in their news feeds.
5. Maintain your campaign at the pit lane
We recommend pulling all your channels together in one app (Hootsuite works well), which lets you manage your campaign and build up your activity. Build up your team of followers, supporters, re-tweeters and make sure to thank them for their efforts. Return the favour.
