First anniversary for city centre showroom

A Newcastle-based interiors company has celebrated a year of investment and expansion following an increase in demand for its bespoke furniture.

PMH Interiors, which opened its showroom in Newcastle city centre one year ago, has invested in new manufacturing and IT systems since winning a number of new clients.

Michelle Harrison, who runs the company with her husband Paul, said: “The year since we opened our new showroom has been fantastic – we have seen a real increase in business, so much so that we invested in new equipment and took on another member of staff.”

The company specialises in made to measure furniture for kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, which is made in its Throckley workshop. The business has added another experienced cabinetmaker to its team.

Michelle Harrison added: “Having a presence in the city centre has really helped us to raise the profile of the company and that has had a positive effect on our order book. It’s been a busy year but a successful one and we hope that the next 12 months continue in the same way.”

The PMH Interiors showroom is located on Rutherford Street in Newcastle where it is based in the same building as audio, video and multimedia company Bang and Olufsen. The company has also formed strong links with other well known brands including AGA and Miele, enabling it to source high-end appliances for its customers.
