Parsons bring in the fantastic four!

Patrick Parsons Consulting Engineers is expanding, with three new recruits recently joining the firm’s rapidly growing Environment & Energy division.

Specialising in renewable energy, geo-environmental engineering, remediation assessment and design, asbestos management and environmental impact assessment, the division has taken on additional specialist staff to cater for growing demand for these services.

Joining the Environment & Energy division, Simon Jones brings his specialist geotechnical skills to support the department’s pioneering work. A senior engineer, originally from Blaydon, Simon joins the firm from a multinational company with over 14 years’ experience in consultancy.

Simon is a specialist in the assessment and analysis of brownfield sites, land affected by mine workings and electrical distribution sites. Dr Grant Richardson, Director of Environment & Energy commented: “Simon is a key player in our strategy to grow a strong suite of geo-environmental services which enhance our range of integrated civil and structural design services and give us the full engineering capability to tackle brownfield development sites. In addition, we also now offer clients the added value of renewable energy assessment, design and costing which can often lend value to clients’ developments and open up opportunities to them which may not otherwise have been realised.

Also joining the Environment & Energy team and working closely with Simon Jones, geoenvironmental engineer Rexine Perry brings with her over 10 years’ broad experience of working in the UK and Australia within the hydrogeology, geo-environmental engineering and asbestos removal fields. Commenting on Rexine’s appointment, Grant Richardson said: “we’re delighted to welcome Rexine on board as she brings with her a wealth and breadth of experience that bolsters the capability within Simon’s team.”

Bringing with him over 35 years’ experience, recently appointed Environmental Technician John Ferguson has worked in the mining and quarrying sectors and geoenvironmental consultancy. John specialises in CAD and environmental monitoring for geotechnical and environmental engineering projects. John works within the Environment & Energy team on projects including housing, commercial and leisure development and mineral extraction sites.
