Legal support for science network
Members of one of the UK’s most established networks for science and technology businesses now have access to legal expertise and guidance thanks to a new programme.
It comes with North East law experts Sintons LLP being the latest company to join NETPark Net under its Affinity membership programme.
The programme is a gateway for professional services companies to provide a wealth of expertise and advice to support the region’s burgeoning cluster of science and technology businesses.
NETPark Net, which is managed by Business Durham on behalf of Durham County Council, already has over 300 active member companies and organisations operating in the fields of science, technology and engineering.
Stewart Watkins, Business Durham managing director, said: “The Affinity programme provides NETPark Net members with access to professional services expertise which is vital for companies looking to grow and take new products to market. By bringing in new members with specialist knowledge in business-critical areas, we are providing the tools to allow innovation to develop at a faster pace.
“The Affinity package provides the ideal platform for professional service companies such as Sintons to interact with the North East’s science and technology community. It also means that companies can now start to access this expertise and knowledge.”
Anthony Evans, Partner at Sintons LLP, which specialises in providing legal services for companies across the UK, said: “It was clear from our first visit to NETPark that it is a place where world class science and technology companies and individuals come together.
“The Affinity package provides us with a great opportunity to contribute to the community with our specialist expertise and technical skills. We have experience of working with companies at all stages, from those looking to develop new products and ideas to helping more established engineering manufacturers.”
