Clear-skies ahead for Cloud Computing exponents Browells

North-based Legal 500 Law Firm; Browell, Smith & Co (Browells) have just taken a big step forward in implementing their Information Technology Strategy with the Washington-based Cloud Computing, Virtualisation & Data Centre Services specialist; Knowledge I.T.

Knowledge I.T have been working with Browells at a strategic level to ensure that their information technology provision is aligned to the Companies business objectives. After spending time with Knowledge I.T’s technology experts, the recommendation was to move to ‘The Cloud’ and implement an Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) model. This involved relocating all their existing back-end IT infrastructure to one of Knowledge I.T’s highly secure Data Centres which are accredited to ISO 27001 for information security.

Knowledge I.T Account director David Bennett explains further: “By moving to The Cloud, Browells no longer have to worry about hardware or software management as this is all taken care of as a part of the overall solution.”

“Browells’ technology strategy is geared to make full use of their case management software and now that the new infrastructure is in place, staff can access all software systems remotely, which is a major step in their home working initiative.”

Clint Milnes from Browell’s explains: “Knowledge have really helped guide us over the last few years. Initially they connected all of our independent satellite offices into a multi-site wide area network (WAN). But this move to The Cloud will allow us to take advantage of Knowledge’s I.T’s Tier 1 network infrastructure (Cisco, EMC & HP blade servers) to deliver highly-available, fully managed hardware and software platforms, which are delivered in a monthly, utility style payment, thus enabling us to remove capital spend and flatten our costs .”
