    Private: North East SMEs only
When the economy looks gloomy and SME’s are fighting for survival, The Environmental Academy’s EMSI project stands out from the crowd as it offers SMEs in the North East fully funded support to make environmental improvements and boost business performance. The fully funded EMSI project has already convinced and assisted 40 companies in the North East.
The Environmental Academy, a Centre of Excellence for sustainability, and the international certification body NQA will gather at a FREE event on the 13th March 2013 at Newcastle United Stadium St James’ Park to give SMEs all the support needed to achieve sustainability.
A body of experts will be present to help SMEs to make their businesses stronger and more resilient by maximising the benefits of environmental improvement and being involved in the fully funded EMSI project.
Redwood Cable Projects, an electrical and satellite cabling company based in Team Valley, is one of the proactive SMEs that has experienced the benefits of the EMSI programme. Since starting the project Rosewood Cable Projects has installed a vehicle tracking system in 5 company vehicles. This has resulted in a valuable reduction in fuel consumption and the remarkable annual saving of £1,200 on fuel costs.
Rita Callender, Managing Director of The Environmental Academy “The funding we have received from the European Regional Development Fund has enabled us to contribute to SME growth in the North East and create job opportunities for young and unemployed people”.
So, if like Redwood Cable Projects, you think that environmental improvement can help develop and improve your business, come to the event for North East SMEs at Newcastle United St James’ Park on the 13th of March 2013. The Academy will provide you with all you need to achieve your environmental ambition.
