Law Firm Run for Age UK
Four staff members at Raworths Solicitors have entered the Wrap Up and Run Harewood 10k to raise funds for Age UK. The race which takes place on Sunday 24th March covers a challenging course in the grounds of the historic stately home between Harrogate and Leeds.
The four runners are Fionula Scanlan, senior associate in the Corporate Unit, Probate, Wills and Trusts solicitor, Kate Maybury, trainee chartered legal executive, Ervin Shakaj and probate secretary Ruth Thompson. The team hope to raise in excess of £200.
Age UK is the largest charity for older people, combining Age Concern and Help the Aged into one charity in 2010. The charity raises about £47million per annum through fundraising alone.
Kate Maybury of Raworths says, “My work frequently brings me into contact with elderly people and this seems a good way to raise money for what is a very important cause, especially at a time when older people may find the value of their savings eroding and their standard of living falling.”
