The Institute of Directors has appointed a new chair to its North West division in Manchester.
Clare O’Neill, who is the founder of innovation company Original Ventures, will take the position to represent business leaders from a wide range of industries and sectors.
She has previously worked as the deputy chief executive of Manchester Knowledge Capital and at a senior level in university knowledge transfer.
Tony Attard, regional chair of the IoD said: “We are very excited to welcome Clare as the new committee chair.
“Her impressive background in innovation will no doubt see the branch take a new direction in the way it supports the region’s businesses.
“I’d like to pass on our sincere thanks to Phil Smith as he comes to the end of his chairmanship.
“His commitment has seen the Manchester branch establishing an impressive calendar of events, going from strength-to-strength and we are extremely grateful.”
Clare O’Neill commented: “Manchester is a thriving city with a strong network of business leaders.
“I am delighted to be elected as the branch chair and am looking forward to ensuring these businesses are engaged in the regional agenda and thriving at a national level.”
