North Yorkshire IT company makes £100K investment

Catterick-based IT specialist, Razorblue, is investing thousands of pounds to assist with the company’s growth and to boost its service offering to customers.

The company, which also has bases in Leeds and York, specialises in consultancy, managed IT services, hosted solutions and connectivity for a wide range of SMEs, business parks and public sector organisations across the UK.

Razorblue is set to invest over £100,000 in its state-of-the-art network to provide faster, highly-resilient connectivity for its clients, which include SMEs, public sector organisations and large enterprises.

The new 10GB backbone network spans several data centres and business parks across the North East and Yorkshire, allowing Razorblue to provide connectivity that is both robust and cost effective.

Chris Gill, commercial director of Razorblue, said: “This marks the first phase of our £120,000 network upgrade programme. We are committed to being at the forefront of ISP services and, by moving our entire infrastructure to a common platform, we can ensure that the service we provide is second to none.

“This new core network is much faster and offers a number of new features. It gives us a strong foundation for expansion and will enable us to offer new and innovative services.”

Dan Kitchen, from Darlington, established Razorblue in 2006. Last year the business relocated to larger premises at Colburn Business Park in Catterick to allow it to grow further with five more new jobs planned for the next twelve months.

To cope with its growth and contracts with a range of organisations and SMEs throughout the North East and across Yorkshire, Razorblue recruited ten new members of staff in 2012, doubling its workforce to twenty.
