Yorkshire environmental firm seeks industry experts

Environmental firm, SLR Consulting, which has offices in Sheffield, Huddersfield and Leeds has accelerated a recruitment drive which could see over 20 strategic staff hires within its UK operations over the next year.

Opportunities also exist for entry-level placements to senior appointments in a broad range of technical disciplines.

SLR’s 20-strong Yorkshire workforce of environmental specialists is currently involved in projects ranging from the development of wind farms, solar parks, major infrastructure projects, and large-scale housing/retail schemes throughout the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Recent projects include a scheme to recycle coal slurry from colliery lagoons in Pontefract, on behalf of UK Coal, and the provision of technical and planning support for a new Energy from Waste facility in Leeds.

SLR is also involved in the provision of ecological services for a number of major residential schemes, working for Persimmon, Redrow Homes, Gleeson Homes, David Wilson Homes, and Taylor Wimpey, amongst others.

Ian Andrews, who manages SLR’s Huddersfield office, said: “As well as seeking to attract additional UK industry experts, SLR is also looking for consultants for possible placement into roles in its overseas operations in Canada, United States, Southern Africa and Australia in support of its global expansion plans.”

The recruitment drive follows the announcement earlier in the year of the company’s continued growth and strong performance and the securing of a further £15m in acquisition finance.

SLR, which employs 320 consultants in the UK, provides multi-disciplinary technical advice and support on a wide range of strategic and site-specific issues.
